Week 3 of Usrah Classes

Assalaamu 'alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

Alhamdulillah our Friday night classes have entered their 3rd week this week. Keep an eye out for the flyers that will inshaAllah be sent soon. We need you all to keep reminding people of the start times - which is 7:30pm (a good time to start since many sisters need to be home and brothers also, before 10-11pm).

Keep up the great work brothers and sisters and may Allah subhaanahu wa ta'ala grant us all eternal success. Ameen.

I havn't attended in a while. What is the topic at the moment? 54 Faraid?
admin

Assalaamu 'alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

Theme last week was on Interpersonal Relations. It was not from the 54 Fara'id. Ustadh wishes to continue the 54 Fara'id and at times also have other topics of concern discussed.
InshaAllah that helps.

Oh ok. Jazakallah khayr.

INSHAllaah, I am moving close to the mosque-I will try to make the effort

May Allah subhaanahu wa ta'ala reward you for your good intentions akhi.

aa. must say the lecture room kills it, and more work is going go be down on it insh. its a big attraction
Majesticislam

The room

Assalaamu 'alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

Yes the room is looking good Alhamdulillah. It's got a mocco, coffee house appearance to it. But the biggest attraction has to be the seeking of knowledge in this place. It is truly (maashAllah) a place of learning, and inshaAllah it will continue that way, and grow even further with more learned brothers and sisters helping out, all vying for the good in this world and the akhirah inshaAllah.

May Allah subhaanahu wa ta'ala Bless all the faithful, and increase their yaqeen and understanding of this beautiful way of life, and allow us to live, and die, in a state where He is Pleased with us. Ameen ajma'een.

donations

aa.

whats happening with the donations?
apparently its being saved up for the A/C's? its a pretty good idea. i mean, it gets extremely stuffy in the C.I.C. when the weather's high and when the centre is choc-a-block! It'd be nice to listen to the lecture AND breathe at the same time hey? iA, it all turns out well.

*just wondering, if the donations are going well iA. what other ideas u have in mind 4 it?....just wondering.

JzkAllah.
admin

Assalaamu 'alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

Yes inshaAllah the Air con's (reverse cycle split systems) are a priority and inshaAllah they will be fitted hopefully soon.

In regards to other ideas, we would really like to make the room look more presentable since beneficial knowledge is taught there, and it is in the Masjid. Your ideas would be much appreciated.

One idea was to have a computer system, so that people at home, interstate and overseas could also tune in to the talks (somewhat a kin to www.sunnipath.com lectures). InshaAllah that's something that we can have in the near future.

Aa.

i like the idea with the comp. systems, iA it'll happn.

as for more new ideas.. well maybe we can do something
with the bathrooms n toilets?

even in one of the recent lectures, ustaaz said sumthing about
if u want to knw what a particular community is like, u first look at
their toilets..somthin like that, my minds a bit blurry.

forgive me for bringing this up..

another beautiful hot night at usrah Alhamdulillah. MashAllah the numbers seem to be growing week by week, if we keep going at this rate we might need a bigger space to hold the classes . and Ustadh's story about the road rage incident was a crack up

usdath was talking about applying good character even when driving, then he narrated a story about how him and another brother left the masjid and as they were driving some guy cut them off, the brother got so upset that he drove upto the other driver, took of his shoe and was hitting the guys window with it and swearing at him. was hilarious when he told it at the time.

A brother? Swearing? After leaving the Masjid? emmm . Did the Ustadh say anything to that brother afterwards? LOL
admin

Assalaamu 'alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

That was part of the story, the moral of the story was that this was not something Islamic, nor was it encouraged, but that rather a person has to try as much as possible to have patience and forbearance when confronted with any situation, without having to resort to violence or foul mouthness.

Ustadh was not happy with this brother and from what I heard previously, had asked the brother never to drive him anywhere.

What time does Friday night class start now ?

Assalamualaikum,

I used to come for the classses when daylight savings was in effect, but have not attended since daylight savings ended due to work commitments. Do the classes still start at 7.30pm now ?

Friday night classes

Assalaaamu 'alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

Yes the classes begin at 7:30pm with Qur'an recitation and then a short talk or a slideshow followed by Ustadh's talk. So if you have the time following work, try and attend inshaAllah as the topics vary from every week.

Since daylight savings time has made things much more easier, the starting times for the classes have been very much on time Alhamdulillah.

Assalamualaikum

MashaAllah I must say the attendees were overwhelming last week. Even though its foggy and raining, that doesnt stopped them from coming to learn their Deen. May Allah (swt) reward them abundantly with Jannatul Firdaus InshaAllah. Remember this Hadith: When a group gather to remember Allah (members are brought by mercy of Allah – being a member is a favor Allah), Angels will surround the gathering and shower Allah’s mercy and forgiveness and list the names of the members and call more angels.
o Allah asks angels where they are coming from
o Angels say they were coming from a group remembering Allah
o Allah forgives all members of the gathering
 Even if a member hadn’t intended to be a part of the gathering

Its also a good idea that Ustadh recommend few books for attendees to buy from the bookshop downstairs. Sometimes it was given a special discounts, so bring some cash on tomorrow nite for the next recommended book to read from Ustadh. The bookshop accept eftpos too

Assalaamu 'alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

Yes, last weeks attendance was passed 120, Alhamdulillah.
We do everything for ourselves, and coming to a Halaqah is also for our own development inshaAllah. As 'Ali Radi'Allahu 'anh said: "Whatever good I have done was for myself and whatever evil I have done is to myself".

Hence attending weekly classes is a great oportunity to get reminded of our daily duties, of our humanity, of who we are, and what our purpose is in this temporary life. Is life about eating, smoking, drugs, gambling, stealing, or is it to live life in accordance with the rules set out by the Supreme and only One?
To give thanks for all the health and well being which we have is a part of ones being an obedient servant to the Lord of All the Worlds.

Cool Muslim

Assalamualaikum

Can I make a little suggestion. Well not only me, some others too asking is pizza the only food served at the classes Do we really hv to have food after class and why not before class. Some attendees come straight after work or uni so they must be starving if class starts late and hving food at 10.00pm. Ive attended both tues and fri nites classes and ppl can get tired of having pizzas all the time. Why not just hv simple tea and coffee and variety of biscuits. It could be frustrating when the talk lasts only for an hour. Sorry for this
admin

Assalaamu 'alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

It seems that your suggestion has become a reality for Tuesday night coolMuslim. Food will be served at 7:30pm from now on - till Ramadan starts.

JazakAllahu Khayr.

i guess it comes down to practicality, and pizza is a pretty easy option to be honest, gets delivered, is easy to pack up and not much mess Alhamdulillah.

Assalaamu 'alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

For the next 4 Friday nights inshaAllah - Iftar will take place at CIC.

So if you were used to attending Friday night Usrah classes - simply come on down and join in the hasanat of breaking fast at the Masjid of Allah subhaanahu wa ta'ala.

Ramadan Kareem to all of you - please keep us all in your du'as.

Assalamu alaikum

just wondering whether certain BROTHERSSS are thinking about providing some
sort of LIGHT entertainment? For example, certain BROTHERS use to act out plays
If I'm not mistaken..., Don't we have a NASHEED group?
crystalclear

Assalamualaikum

I think it starts at 7.30 right after Isha prayer then a small talk by our Br Orhan Sheriff or another brother then a quran recitation. Btw Br Orhan you gave a very inspiring talk last week MashaAllah

The nasheed group? I think that's only for special events at Coburg Mosque. If you are interested to join in, Im sure Br Orhan will take u in InshaAllah

Anyway, MashaAllah SubhanAllah I must say the numbers are growing on Friday nite Usrahs, but I saw more sisters then brothers, wonder why .

Im just so happy to see that our interstate audience can hear and watch the talk live too. How that works? SubhanAllah amazing.
