Principles of Tariqah
According to Prof Dr Mahmud Esad Cosan (rha)

1.Adherence to Quran and Sunnah. Seek refuge in Allah (swt) besides Quran and Sunnah. We follow the Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jamaa in belief and practice.

2.Ikhlasun – Niyyah – condition of our works being accepted by Allah (swt). Hence, riya, sun’ah and all forms of lack of ikhlas is out. Our motto is always ‘Illahi anta maqsudi wa ridaka matlubi” –(Oh Allah! You are my God and what I seek is Your good pleasure (Rida)

3.Itiqadun Sahih – Soundness of a murid’s aqidah based on Maturidiyyah or Ash’ariyah is essential.

4.Dhikrullah – a murid could never progress in the path unless s/he performs ‘daily wird of dhikrullah’ al-ilmu bit ta’allumi, al-hilmu, bit tahallumi, adh-dhikru bit – tadhakkuri.

5.Muraqabah – Cultivating the feeling of ihsan, “wahuwa ma’akum ayna ma’kuntum”, “wallahu bima ta’maluna basir”, ‘la tudrikuhu’l Absar, wa huwa yudrikuhu’l absar”

6.Wuquf Qalbi – to be in control of what goes in and out of your heart

7.Hifzu’n –Nisbah – connecting to the silsilah sahihah – through the hand of a Murshid Al-MuKammil is a must.

8.Rabita Al-Muhabbah – Love of the Murshid for the bonding is crucial. No trust no progress.

9.Suhbatu’sh –Shaykh . Keeping the company of the Shaykh (following his instructions in order to go through Tarbiyyah (Change).

will continue next week InshaAllah
