Assalaamu 'alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

Hmm, I would personally ask www.sunnipath.com for an answer to such a question. At least it will be segregated, so that's very promising, and anything done with Allah's Pleasure in mind, will inshaAllah have more barakah and Blessings attached to it. As for customs where dancing is a part of the culture (yes in a segregated manner), I really can't comment on it, but I would ask is there a legal or religious doctrine which speicifes it being Haram in any way? I personally haven't come across anything (but that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist). The issue of concern would be, whether the act of brothers doing some 'folk' dancing amongst themselves be considered as imitating the opposite gender or not? That said, we all play some form of 'sports' where all forms of actions and motions are carried out aswell. What would their standing be classified in the shari'a? So I'm not saying that it is permissible or not permissible, but rather, it may be considered a mubah act for all we know, hence it would be better asking our 'Ulama who will give a better and more definate answer to such questions.

Oh and by the way, nasheeds, etc, would be totally allowed for walimahs, and so akhi, let's hear you sing us a nice piece on the night (bust a move akhi for the bros ).

Mabruk and may ALlah subhaanahu wa ta'ala place His Barakah upon your union, and make you both from amongst his righteous servants inshaAllah.

Fi Amanillah

Wassalaamu 'alaikum

Your brother in Islam
