Assalamualaikum

Last Friday Nite Usrah, Ustadh gave out a copy of his Jumuah sermon in regards to the Blessed month of Rajab. Here I copied it for your benefit InshaAllah. Reap as much rewards as possible in this month of Rajab InshaAllah. Dont forget my family in your duas InshaAllah.

Rasullullah (saw) is reported to have said:

“The Rajab is a tremendous month in which Allah (swt) multiplies the good deeds. So whoever fasts a day from Rajab it is as if he fasted a year; and whoever fasts seven days of it (the seven) gates of Hell are closed to him; and whoever fasts eight days from it the eight gates of Paradise are opened to him; and whosoever fasts ten days from it will not ask Allah (swt) something except that Allah will grant it. And whoever fasts from it fifteen days a caller will call out from heavens. ‘Verily you have been forgiven whatever is past, so renew your good actions, for indeed your transgressions have been transformed into virtuous deeds.” And whoever does more, Allah (swt) gives to him even more. And in Rajab Allah (swt) carried Nuh (as) in the ark and he fasted and ordered all those with him to do so. And the ark sailed with them for six months until the first ten days of Muharram..”
(Related by Sa’id b. Abu Rashid (ra) in At-Tabarani and also al Bayhaqi from Anas (ra)

Rajab is the seventh month in the Islamic lunar calendar. This month was regarded as one of the sacred months (Al-Ashhur Al-Hurum) in which battles were prohibited in the days of the Holy Prophet (saw). It is also a prelude to the month of Ramadan, because Ramadan follows it after the intervening month of Sha’ban. Therefore, when the Holy Prophet (saw) sighted the moon of Rajab, he used to pray to Allah (swt) in the following words:

“Allahumma bariklana fi Rajaba wa Sha’bana wa balaghna Ramadhan.”

“O Allah, make the months of Rajab and Sha’ban blessed for us, and let us reach the month of Ramadhan (ie prolong our life up to Ramadhan, so that we may benefit from its merits and blessings.”
